Choosing the right font sometimes is a core task and can make the difference, that’s why a specific application can help improving your workflow and organization.
OS X comes with FontBook application installed by default as font manager but as many of us already know, it is not exaclty a killer application being just simple and having only basic functionalities.
Pieter Omvlee the man behind Bohemian Coding just thought that the time was right to give Mac users, who need to go thought a couple of fonts and choose the one they need many times a day, the right application that could help in saving time and headaches.
Fontcase is a font management desk coded and designed to be the “Font iTunes”.

The main fonts functionalities are :
- Management
- Preview
- Share
- Print
- Examine
- Compare
Management
Fontcase comes with a powerful tagging system that will let you create a full catalogue of all your fonts entering all the extra informations that you may need in the future to retrieve the exact kidn of font you are looking for in a particular occasion.

Preview
Fontcase can preview every font being installed or not on your system so that you can evaluate fonts before even installing them.
You can also keep all fonts in Fontcase and activate them only when needed, every application will recognise a new font immediately without any need to restart.

Share
Easily sharing and accessing fonts through Bonjour is one of the best achievements of Fontcase since you can imagine the great help and workflow improvement such functionalities can bring into workplaces where design and typography are important like graphic and web design studios.

Fontcase allows you to print beautiful previews of fonts and you can arrange them in a font book together with all the related metadata, to use the prints as a visual reference during planning phase or to show a client how a font would look like.

Examine
A quite powerful glyph viewer is embedded into Fontcase, allowing the user to have a look at all unicode glyphs for every font being it installed or not. Informations like the ascender, capHeight, unicode code and html entity are shown making this simple utility helpful in many situations.

Compare
The compare functionality is a great way to have a look at how the same text would appear using different fonts for both headers and body text or even have a look at the glyphs tables of different fonts at the same time.

Another great function included into Fontcase is the possibility to develop own plugins or use the ones written by other people.
All we can say is that if you work everyday with fonts and typography you cannot miss this great tool that will improve your way of working for sure and speed up your design times.

I’m still evaluating Fontcase and it seems that it perfectly fits me needs. I’ve lots of
fonts and it feels good to have all the expensive fonts stored in the vault of Fontcase. Also the coder gives good support even for non-customers.

I would love to win a copy of FontCase for a couple of reasons.
1. I was a beta tester of FontCase. I gave my feedback more than once. I don’t know if it was my original idea, but I thought of the way of grouping font families. Once 1.0 came out, I didn’t have enough money to buy it. I would love to be able to use this application that I so easily became accustomed to in my initial use.
2. I have recently become a typophile. I love downloading fonts and using them everywhere. To me, it is a beautiful art form in itself. I want to continue this passion and I fell that FontCase is the best way for me to do this. I can rate, organize and store fonts with it so that I am always using new ones. I want to keep my fonts organized and this is the best tool to do it.
*crossing fingers* Even if I don’t win, this is a great contest!

I would like to win a copy of FontCase because I am a typography freak and need a font book replacement. I don’t have the cash for FontCase right now so I’d really appreciate a free copy…
It would greatly help my workflow by allowing me to easier visualize my web creations as well as help me with graphic and print work typography selection. I could also feel better about having a large collection of fonts because I would know they are all organized.
Here’s to hoping I win!

I Love the look of Fontcase, and if it’s going to do what it says on the box – it’s bound to save me lots of time in choosing fonts during the design process. It looks like a cool app that will also make the playing with fonts experience more fun. VIVA font design, VIVA fontcase!

Being a freelance designer for some years now I have thousands of fonts which need to be organised. The free app solution I actually use for this task is not much more than okay but Fontcase seems to be a great app made to improve one’s workflow. The Print Preview and the Overview both look amazing.
Need it!

Design is a process. I have been known to labor for hours over selecting the right font for a project so I’m very excited about Fontcase”s preview and printing features. Since I work with fonts all the time, it would greatly improve my workflow and cut down on research time to have an all-in-one tool to manage, preview, share, and print.
I’m looking forward to trying it out & thanks for considering me for the giveaway!

@TonyRetrobot
I would love, LOVE to win this great program. It is EXACTLY what I need. A while ago I went on a hunt looking for the possibility of a better font manager than Apple’s own Font Book and just when I thought there was nothing, I find Fontcase. It is everything I’ve been looking for in a font management application and it does everything with a sleek interface. I downloaded and ran the demo, and knew right away this would help solve all my problems when it came to finding the right font for a job. I really hope I win it. Thanks!

Fontcase is absolutely amazing. What more can one expect from a font management app?! The Overview looks so clean and organized and the Print Preview is exactly what I searched for. I really want Fontcase to be my new font organising “friend”. As a freelancer in graphikdesign I collected thousands of fonts which need to be organised.

I’am designer and I’d like to win Fontcase becouse:
- it’s very well designed, not only aesthetically speaking (and mac apps should always be as good-looking and easy to use as Fontcase)
- I like supporting small software houses
- I’d like to drop Lynotipe Fontexplorer: its interface is raw, not very intuitive and furthermore the app is no more free (the only reason why I used to use it…)
