As Wikipedia says : “In project management, a timebox is a period of time in which to accomplish some task.”
Exceeding the set end date of a timebox is usually considered a failure as this kind of working scheme is a form of risk management and quite precious to avoid teams and even more freelancers to run over their deadlines.
To help you out in being on time with your deadlines MacMation software house developed TimeBoxed a Mac timer application to keep track of you time.
TimeBoxed is easy to use and won’t disturb your work while running. Once the set time is up you can choose a few ways to have TimeBoxed notify you :
- Window Animation
- Dock Icon Bouncing
- Screen Flashing
- Sound Alert (system sounds or custom ones)
- Speech Alert
- Growl notifications
- Window level (stay on top of every applications)
- Run AppleScript code
TimeBoxed is also completely scriptable to allow easy integration into your personal workflow.

Well, I do love giveaways. I would start it up and keep it going to discover how I am really using time – concentrating on ratio of billable and non-billable.

@mmarauder
That’s what I need, an app that warn me regularly. I’ve been trying other time tracking apps, but they don’t have a warning option, so I always forget about them
